SkeelReel

Privacy Policy

Effective: October 12, 2026

Draft pending review by SkeelReel and its legal counsel. It has not yet been reviewed by an attorney and may change.

SkeelReel lets you build a public skill profile: one link with who you are, your real work and a way for people to reach you. This policy explains what we collect, what becomes public, and which services help us run SkeelReel.

1. Your profile is public by design

Anyone with your link (skeelreel.com/@yourname) or your QR code can see your published profile. That includes your name, handle, photo and cover image, headline and about text, skills, experience, education and certifications you add, your Skeels (video links) and social links, and your city-level location.

Your email and phone number are shown on your profile only if you turn them on. Your birth year is never shown.

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address and password, or your Google account email and name if you sign in with Google.
  • Profile details you enter: name, handle, headline, about text, photos, skills, experience, education, certifications, website and social links, and contact preferences.
  • Contact details: email and phone number, if you add them.
  • Age confirmation: your birth year, used to confirm you are 18 or older, plus when you agreed to these policies and which version.
  • Location: the city you pick. We store the city, region, country and postal code you choose, and the approximate map coordinates of that city (not your exact address or device location).
  • Videos: links to your posts on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Vimeo. We store the link, not the video file.
  • Resumes: if you upload one, we store the file privately and may use it to fill in your profile (see section 4).
  • Usage events: when someone views a profile or taps its contact button, a link or a video, we record that event and which profile it was on, so profile owners can later understand their activity. We also record a few sign-up milestones (account created, first Skeel saved, sharing) and how you first arrived at SkeelReel.

3. How we use it

  • To create, show and share your profile.
  • To sign you in, send account emails such as confirmation and password reset, and keep your account secure.
  • To understand whether SkeelReel is working and improve it.
  • To enforce our Terms and keep the service safe.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising on SkeelReel.

4. Services that help us run SkeelReel

  • Supabase: stores our database, accounts, photos and resume files.
  • Lovable: hosts the website and provides the AI service we use to read resumes. If you use resume autofill, the resume text is sent through Lovable's AI service to a Google Gemini model to suggest profile details.
  • Google: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your basic account details with us to sign you in.
  • Email delivery: account emails are sent through an email delivery provider on our behalf.

These services process information so we can operate SkeelReel, under their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Embedded videos and cookies

Skeels play inside SkeelReel using players from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo. When a profile with these videos loads, those companies may receive information such as your IP address and browser details, and may set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.

SkeelReel itself uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to save your progress during sign-up. We do not use advertising trackers.

6. Your choices

  • You can edit or remove most profile details, links and Skeels at any time in the editor.
  • You choose whether your email and phone number are shown.
  • Appearing in SkeelReel discovery is off unless you turn it on.

You can delete your account yourself while signed in, from the account menu ("Delete account"). This permanently removes your login, profile, Skeels, sections, links, photos, saved resume and the activity recorded on your profile. Sign-up milestone records are kept without your account ID. Your handle is held for 30 days so no one else can take over your old links, then it becomes available again. Copies may remain for a limited time in our service providers' routine backups.

7. Age

SkeelReel is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, contact us and we will review and remove it.

8. Keeping information

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to run and protect the service. No security measures are perfect, but we limit access to private data, such as your resume and hidden contact details, to you and the systems that run SkeelReel.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this policy as SkeelReel changes and will note the new effective date above. If we make important changes, we will let you know.

Privacy questions: a dedicated contact address will be listed here before public launch.
